The importance of line drawing
Here is a side by side look at a drawing that was taken as a guide for a digital painting. Line drawings are a good way to get an idea of form down quickly, and later can be elaborated on, as seen here.

Innovation from Autodesk
Autodesk have a reputation for providing state of the art industry tools, and have recently released a 3D Scuplting program for both Apple and Android mobile devices.
This software looks like an innovative tool allowing users to easily create and paint 3D models, then ready for export to a conventional 3D printer. This could open a door to a great future. The Software is free.
